Geography The Isle of Wight or "Garden Isle" as it is sometimes know, sits off the south cast of Mainland England. It measures just 23 miles by 13, yet is has been the subject of University and school field trips for decades. Effectively a "diamond" shape, the Island has a central back bone of chalk which runs the length of the Island from the Needles (chalk Staks) to the towering cliffs of Culver. Either side of this chalk download are varying types of rock and sandstone, ALL with in a very short distance. CLICK HERE for a work book
